Excelsior in Boston Has Closed

Thanks very much to a poster on the Chowhound site for bringing to our attention the fact that Excelsior in Boston has closed. A high-end restaurant on Boylston Street across from the Public Gardens, Excelsior featured mostly New American cuisine as well an extensive wine list (and an actual three-story wine tower within the restaurant) that included hundreds of different wines. Excelsior first opened its doors in 2003 and went on to become one of Boston's most popular restaurants.

UPDATE: According to the Excelsior Web site, the restaurant has officially closed and will re-open as another dining spot sometime this fall.
