New iPhone App Lets Diners View Boston-Area Restaurants in 3D

A Waltham company has just created an iPhone app that gives diners the chance to tour Boston-area restaurants in 3D.

According to the Cantabrigia Wicked Local blog, EveryScape has built an app that shows the interiors of more than 500 dining spots in and around Boston, and the exteriors of more than 1,300 eateries. A press release on the EveryScape site states that the app uses interior panoramic imagery to let users take virtual 3D tours of restaurants before actually going to the spots.

The EveryScape press release mentions that the app can also be used to find nearby restaurants using the iPhone GPS, share dining spots with Facebook friends or via email, and read reviews and menus. There is also a companion website that can be used to get information on restaurants as well.

Boston is the first city in which the EveryScape app is being used.
