Stockholders Opening in Former Karma/Littlenecks Spot in Weymouth

It looks like a new steak and seafood restaurant will be coming to Weymouth, opening where several restaurants have been over the past few years.

According to several of our readers who contacted us via email and our Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, Stockholders is planning on opening on Route 18 sometime this summer. The space that the restaurant is hoping to move into had been home to Karma, an Asian spot that closed about a month ago, and before that, Littlenecks, a seafood restaurant that closed around the beginning of the year. (Other dining spots, including the Mexican restaurant chain Acapulcos, used to be here as well.)

A legal notice on the mypublicnotices.com site indicates that an all alcoholic restaurant license transfer from Karma to Stockholders may be decided at a public hearing tomorrow (Tuesday, June 29). The notice states that Stockholders is also applying for entertainment and common victualler licenses.

[July 20 update: According to a job posting on the Craigslist site, Stockholders is on track to open in early August. It looks to be a high-end steakhouse with a capacity of more than 200, and it will also have a private dining room and a bar with seating for nearly 30. The post also mentions that the people opening Stockholders are also behind the Inn at Bay Pointe in Quincy.]

[August 17 update: According to an article in the Weymouth News/Wicked Local, Stockholders is planning on opening next week. The article mentions that the restaurant will include a bar called Bulls 'n Bears, and steaks will be cooked over an open oak fire pit.]

[August 26 update: According to the Patriot Ledger, Stockholders is now open.]

The address for this new steak and seafood spot is: Stockholders, 1073 Main Street, Weymouth, MA, 02190.
