Vox Populi in the Back Bay of Boston Is Closing

It looks like a trendy Back Bay restaurant and bar is soon going to be closing its doors.

According to the Boston Herald, Vox Populi on Boylston Street is planning to shut down sometime around the beginning of 2011. The article mentions that the space where the eatery has been for about 10 years may be taken over by the group behind Noche in the South End, The Tap in Faneuil Hall, and The Federal in Beacon Hill. [December 23 update: It appears that Vox Populi is now closed. A poster on Chowhound mentioned that there is paper over the windows and the OpenTable site is no longer taking reservations for the place.]

Vox Populi has featured mostly New American and classic American fare over the years, including such items as truffle frites, Maine diver scallops, New York sirloin, lobster ravioli, pulled pork sandwiches, and pan roasted fingerling potatoes. An extensive drink menu has featured beer, wine, martinis, and more.

The address for this soon-to-close restaurant and bar in the Back Bay is: Vox Populi, 755 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, 02116.
