Acitron Is Opening in Old Rio Brazilian Barbeque Space in Arlington

A new Mexican restaurant is on the way to Arlington Center, moving into the space where a Brazilian restaurant had been until closing nearly two years ago.

According to The Arlington Advocate, Acitron is going to be moving into the former Rio Brazilian Barbeque spot on Mass. Ave. (between Pleasant Street and Medford Street). It appears that the eatery will be open for both lunch and dinner.

Rio Brazilian Barbeque had first opened during the summer of 2007, shutting its doors about two and a half years later toward the end of 2009. The Indian restaurant Punjab was housed in the space prior to Rio (Punjab has since moved to a bigger spot within the same block of stores).

[April 5, 2011 update: A check on Acitron today has shown that a grand opening sign is now up at the restaurant, so it is now officially open for business.]

The address for this new Mexican restaurant in Arlington is: Acitron, 473 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA, 02474.
