Dickey's Barbecue Pit May Be Coming to the Boston Area

It looks like a Texas-based chain of barbecue restaurants is planning to open a couple of locations in the Boston area.

According to the Mass. Market column of The Patriot Ledger, the people behind Dickey's Barbecue Pit are looking to open two branches of the restaurant somewhere around Boston. The article mentions that Dickey's recently opened its first Massachusetts location in Seekonk (which is also its first restaurant in New England), and the chain is planning to open a branch in Rhode Island at some point.

According to its website, Dickey's first opened in Dallas, TX, in 1941, with that original location still being in operation today. Currently, there are more than 150 locations across the country, with the possibility of their being a total of more than 200 locations within the next year or so. The chain features such items as pulled pork, brisket, pork ribs, Virginia-style ham, Polish sausage, barbecue beans, and macaroni and cheese.
