Qingdao Garden in Cambridge Remains Closed for Renovations; Website No Longer Functioning

A highly-rated Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that closed for renovations several months ago has still not opened, and in a rather disturbing turn of events, their website now appears to be down.

Based on posts within the Chowhound site, it appears that little, if any, work is currently being done to Qingdao Garden on Mass. Ave. in North Cambridge, and one poster has mentioned that the restaurant's website seems to be offline (a check on the site confirms that it is indeed no longer operational). Qingdao Garden initially closed for renovations back in September of 2010, and had been hoping to reopen in December, according to an earlier note on their website.

Qingdao Garden is a tiny dining spot near the Arlington border that is known in part for its house-made dumplings. Our sister website--Boston's Hidden Restaurants--has featured the restaurant as a little-known spot to get Chinese fare, and awarded it best Chinese restaurant in the Boston area for 2009. The review can be found below:

The address for this restaurant is: Qingdao Garden, 2382 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140.
