Boston Bacon and Beer Week to be Held April 28 through May 5, 2012

Last week we reported that the 2012 Boston Bacon and Beer Festival is coming to the city in late April. Now it has been learned that the event will actually be a kickoff for a week of festivities related to both bacon and beer.

According to the wheretoeat.in site, Boston Bacon and Beer Week starts on Saturday, April 28 (which is also the day of the Bacon and Beer Festival at the House of Blues across from Fenway Park), and it will run through Saturday, May 5. In addition to the Bacon and Beer Festival, Bacon and Beer Week will include such happenings as bacon and beer pairings at local dining spots, a bacon and beer harbor cruise, an art show that is inspired by bacon and beer, and other events that will likely be announced soon. The Bacon and Beer Fest Karaoke Harbor Cruise will take place on Sunday, April 29 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, while the Bacon and Beer Art Show will be held at PA's Lounge in Somerville's Union Square on Wednesday, May 2 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM to 9:30PM.
