Restaurants Coming to Melnea Cass Boulevard in Roxbury

A busy thoroughfare that cuts through the Roxbury section of Boston is going to be the site of a couple of mixed-use development projects, with the plans including the opening of new restaurants.

The Boston Globe is reporting that plans are in place for two projects along Melnea Cass Boulevard in the sections known as parcels 9 and 10 (between the Washington Street and Shawmut Avenue intersections). The article states that parcel 9 will include one or more restaurants, a hotel, homes, and a commercial and community building, while parcel 10 will include more restaurants, a supermarket, homes, and office space. (It appears that both projects will include stores as well.)

The article mentions that the two projects will serve as a gateway to Dudley Square, which is just west of the two parcels and has seen a good amount of redevelopment of late.
