East Asia in Somerville Has Closed; DooWee and Rice Replacing It
An Asian restaurant in the Powderhouse Square section of Somerville has closed its doors, with another Asian eatery planning to move into the space.
According to a poster on the Chowhound site (via Davis Square LiveJournal), East Asia on Broadway is now shuttered, with a sign stating that DooWee & Rice will be taking over the spot. The two posts mention that the new restaurant will feature such items as gourmet modern rice plates, Chinese "burgers," and Vietnamese salads. The website for DooWee & Rice also implies that this will be an Asian fusion spot, though no menu has been posted yet.
