Quebrada Baking Co. Is Opening in Belmont

A pair of Boston-area bakeries and cafes will soon have a third shop, with this one taking over the space where a seafood market used to be.

The Belmont Patch reports that Quebrada Baking Co. is going to be opening on Leonard Street in Belmont Center, moving into the former Frankie's Catch of the Day space. (Frankie's closed in April of this year after being in business for more than 25 years.) Once it opens, the new bakery cafe will join other locations in Wellesley Hills as well as East Arlington, where it is based. The article mentions that the Belmont location will have "limited baking," with most of their baked goods coming "off-site."

Quebrada Baking Co.offers such items as breads, cookies, muffins, scones, croissants, cakes, cupcakes, and coffees and teas. It has been in business for more than 35 years.

It appears that Quebrada Baking Co. could be open by this fall.

[October 16 update: The Belmont Citizen-Herald states that the new Quebrada Baking Co. in Belmont is now open.]

The address for this new bakery cafe in Belmont Center is: Quebrada Baking Co., 19 Leonard Street, Belmont, MA, 02478. Their website can be found at http://www.quebradabakingco.com/
