Skipjack's in Newton Has Closed

A small local group of seafood restaurants continues to shrink, as another one of its locations has closed.

According to a poster on the Chowhound site (and confirmed by the restaurant's website), Skipjack's in Newton has shut its doors, with the closure apparently happening last week. The closing of the Needham Street location comes approximately two years after their Natick outlet shuttered, leaving only two locations remaining--one on Clarendon Street in Boston's Back Bay, and a second at Patriot Place in Foxboro.

Skipjack's first opened more than 20 years ago, featuring a variety of seafood items such as clams, shrimp, lobster, crab, mahi mahi, oysters, salmon, and scallops.

The address for this now-closed seafood spot in Newton was: Skipjack's, 55 Needham Street, Newton, MA, 02461. The Skipjack's website can be found at http://www.skipjacks.com/
