A Mobile Farm Stand May Be Coming to Mattapan

A group of "social entrepreneurs" is planning a unique way to bring fruits and vegetables to a section of Boston that does not have much access to fresh produce.

Universal Hub reports that the charitable organization BRACE has teamed up with the Mattapan Food & Fitness Coalition (MFFC) and Brookwood Community Farm in Milton and Canton to create a mobile pedal-powered "farm stand" that would bring fruits and veggies to Mattapan. The group is hoping to raise $7,743 for the project by Wednesday, August 8 in order to make the mobile farm stand happen (as of Thursday afternoon, August 2, a total of $2,015 has been raised).
