Seasons 52, Brio Tuscan Grill Are Opening at Chestnut Hill Square in Newton

Two national restaurant chains are going to be opening their first Massachusetts locations next year, with both spots being in a new mixed-use development near the Newton/Brookline border.

The Boston Business Journal reports that Seasons 52 and Brio Tuscan Grill are planning to open at the upcoming Chestnut Hill Square on the eastbound side of Route 9 in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton, joining a location of Wegmans Food Markets as well as a number of boutique retailers, a fitness club,  medical offices, and luxury residential property. The article mentions that Seasons 52 will have 9,500 square feet of space, with the restaurant and wine bar offering such items as steak, pork, seafood, and flatbreads, and that a piano bar will be on the premises. Brio Tuscan Grill will be slightly smaller (8,100 square feet), with steaks and housemade pasta featured, and it will have an outdoor patio.

Earlier we had reported that Seasons 52 was also planning to open a location in Burlington as well, though based on the Boston Buisiness Journal's note about the Newton location being their first in the state, it appears that the Burlington outlet may open after the Newton spot.

[October 29, 2013 update: The Chestnut Hill Square website says that Seasons 52 will open on November 7, while Brio Tuscan Grill is looking to open sometime in the middle of November. (Note: The Seasons 52 site states that the restaurant will actually open on November 14, so we will have to see which site is correct as we head into November. Thanks to one of our readers for letting us know about this.)]

[November 6 update: A Twitter post from Seasons 52 indicates that the opening date is indeed November 14, not November 7.]

[November 13 update: A Facebook post from Brio Tuscan Grill confirms what an earlier Restaurant Hub article said, that the new restaurant is now open.]

The Florida-based Seasons 52 chain is part of the Darden restaurant company, while the Ohio-based Brio Tuscan Grill is part of the Bravo Brio Restaurant Group.
