Espresso Royale Caffe on Commonwealth Avenue to Become Pavement Coffeehouse

Yesterday we reported that Espresso Royale Caffe on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay was making plans to change over to another location of Pavement Coffeehouse, leaving only one remaining location of Espresso Royale in the city. Now we have learned that this location (which is over by Boston University) will also be switching over to a Pavement Coffeehouse, though it could be a little while before it happens.

A note posted on their Facebook page indicates that Espresso Royale Caffe on Commonwealth Avenue will change over to a Pavement Coffeehouse (and it will be under the same ownership), with renovations being announced for late this year or early next year. The coffee and breakfast programs will remain the same at the new shop, but new items will be added to the menu, including more salad options and more sandwiches.

Once the changeover occurs, there will be a total of four Pavement Coffeehouse locations in Boston, including on Boylston Street near where the Back Bay and the Fenway meet and on Gainsborough Street near Northeastern University.

[August 9, 2013 update: A post on its Facebook page indicates that Espresso Royale on Commonwealth Avenue is now closed, and that construction is going "full steam ahead" for the new Pavement Coffeehouse that will open in its space. As soon as we hear of an opening date for the new spot, we will post another update here.]

[August 22, 2013 update: Eater Boston mentions that the new Pavement Coffeehouse by BU could be opening on August 28, depending on how things go over the next few days.]

[August 27, 2013 update: An event page posted onto its Facebook page indicates that the new Pavement Coffeehouse will be opening this Saturday (August 31).]
