Potbelly Sandwich Shop to Open Second Location in Downtown Boston

A Chicago-based chain of sub shops that has started to expand into the local area is planning to open a second location in downtown Boston.

The Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog is reporting that Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking a common victualler license to open at One Federal Street in the city's Financial District. If approved, the restaurant would join a nearby location on Washington Street in Downtown Crossing, as well as a shop at Logan Airport.

[July 30 update: Eater Boston states that the new Potbelly at One Federal Street is going to be opening on Tuesday, August 6. (Also note that since this article was posted, the chain has also opened shops in Braintree and Burlington.)]

Potbelly features "originals," "bigs," and "skinnys" among its sandwiches, with meatball, ham, turkey, roast beef, chicken, and tuna being a few options available.

The address for this new sub shop in the Financial District is: Potbelly Sandwich Shop, One Federal Street, Boston, MA, 02110. The website for the chain can be found at http://www.potbelly.com/
