Taqueria Mexico Is Opening in Framingham

The folks behind a Mexican restaurant in Waltham are going to be trying again at a second location, this time looking at MetroWest for their new spot.

The Framingham Patch is reporting that Taqueria Mexico on Charles Street will soon have a sister restaurant, with this one being in the former Top Shelf location on Route 9 in Framingham. (Top Shelf was a casual upscale dining spot that closed at the beginning of the year after being in business for approximately a year and a half.) This is the second time that Taqueria Mexico has looked to expand, as they had a location in Brookline's Coolidge Corner that opened about six years ago but closed after a bit more than a year in operation.

The original Taqueria Mexico in Waltham is a dining spot that our other site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured as a little-known place to go to for authentic Mexican cuisine. The review can be found below:

It appears that the new Taqueria Mexico could be opening sometime this month.

[July 29 update: A check on the place over the weekend indicates that the new Taqueria Mexico in Framingham is open.]

The address for this new restaurant in Framingham is: Taqueria Mexico, 250 Worcester Road (Route 9), Framingham, MA, 01701.

Thanks to a poster on the Chowhound site for bringing this to our attention.
