Shannon Bard of Zapoteca in Portland, ME, Looks to Open a Restaurant in Boston

The chef and co-owner of a high-end Mexican restaurant in Portland, ME, is apparently looking to expand into Boston and possibly beyond.

Eater Boston is reporting (via an earlier article in The Portland Press Herald) that Shannon Bard and her husband Tom are eyeing Boston as the potential site of a new dining spot. In the original Press Herald article, Bard says that "We've got two restaurants now...We're wanting a third in Portland, and as we start to expand and talk about Boston and further south, it's great exposure."

In addition to Zapoteca, which opened in June of 2011 on Fore Street in Portland, Shannon and Tom Bard also own Mixteca in Durham, NH.
