Appetito in Newton Centre Has Closed

It looks like an Italian restaurant in Newton Centre has closed its doors after approximately 20 years in business.

A post on the Newton TAB blog mentions that Appetito on Beacon Street was dark earlier this week. A check on its website earlier today indicated that it is no longer running, while a phone call placed to the dining spot didn't go through because the number is out of service. The TAB says that they are "crowd sourcing" the story, but it does appear that Appetito is no longer in business.

Appetito was an upscale Italian spot that featured such items as minestrone soup, pasta alla bolognese, gnocchi, frutti di mare, gemelli milanese, rack and lamb, and pork tenderloin. Our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) visited the place a few years ago, with the review being found at the link below:

Weekend Dining at Appetito in Newton Centre

The address for this now-closed Italian restaurant in Newton Centre was: Appetito, 761 Beacon Street, Newton, MA, 02459.

Appetito's also originally had a location in the South End of Boston in the late 90's.

IIRC it is where 28 Degrees was most recently.
