Peet's Coffee and Tea to Open on Route 9 in Brookline, Moving into Old Starbucks Space

A California-based coffee roaster and retailer that has been expanding through the Boston area of late is planning to open yet another new shop, with this one moving into the space where a location of another chain of coffee shops had been.

According to a Board of Selectmen page within the Town of Brookline website, Peet's Coffee & Tea is looking to open on Route 9 near the eastern edge of Chestnut Hill, taking over the former Starbucks space. (Starbucks closed earlier this year, moving up the road to Chestnut Hill Square in Newton, according to an earlier article in the Boston Business Journal.) If all goes well and the shop gets approved to open, the new Peet's will join other upcoming locations in Boston's Beacon Hill and South End, along with a new cafe/bank collaboration called Capital One 360 Cafe in the Back Bay, and existing locations in Brookline (Harvard Street), Cambridge, Lexington, Newton Centre, and Wellesley.

The address for this upcoming shop near Chestnut Hill is: Peet's Coffee & Tea, 1154 Boylston Street (Route 9), Brookline, MA, 02467. The website for Peet's is at http://www.peets.com/
