New Restaurant May Be Coming to Historic Stoughton Station Depot Building

It looks like a new restaurant could be coming to an historic commuter rail station building south of Boston.

The Stoughton Journal is reporting that the Stoughton Redevelopment Authority is in negotiations with a private developer to open a dining spot within the Stoughton Station Depot Building, which the town is purchasing from Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. It is not yet known whether the owner of the restaurant would purchase the building or lease the space, and there is no word on what type of restaurant it might be, though the article does say that it would not be part of a chain.

The Stoughton Station Depot Building was first built in 1888 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to the Journal.

The address for the Stoughton Station Depot Building is 45 Wyman Street, Stoughton, MA, 02072.
