Update: Pon Thai Bistro Is Opening in Stoli Restaurant Space in Brookline Village

[Ed note: This article was updated on December 1 to reflect a name change for the place.]

It looks like a new Asian restaurant could be coming to Brookline Village, opening in the space where a Russian dining spot has been.

According to a Board of Selectmen page within the Town of Brookline website, a place tentatively called Pon's Kitchen is looking to open on Washington Street, with the owner of Stoli Restaurant and Bar planning to transfer its liquor license to the dining spot, which would be at the same address. Little information has been given on the proposed Pon's Kitchen other than the fact that Sivika Hunter appears to be the person behind it.

The hearing for the license transfer from Stoli to Pon's Kitchen will take place on Thursday, April 17.

[December 1 update: Eater Boston mentions that Pon Thai Bistro (a name change from Pon's Kitchen) is now open, with the Thai restaurant also having a bar within the space.]

Stoli first opened in 2005, replacing another spot called Cafe Europa.

The address for Stoli (and the new restaurant) is 213 Washington Street, Brookline, MA, 02445. The website for Pon's can be found at http://www.ponthaibistro.com/
