A check on the place over the weekend indicates that The Blackthorn Pub on W Broadway has its sign down, with a "Coming Soon" sign in its place for The Patriot. A poster on the Yelp site says that this will be a rebranding, and it appears that this is indeed the case, based on an earlier Licensing Board within the City of Boston website.
The Blackthorn Pub first opened around 1990, being known early on as a somewhat rough dive bar, though it changed over the years and became more of a traditional Irish pub of late.
The address for The Blackthorn Pub (and the upcoming Patriot) is 471 W Broadway, Boston, MA, 02127.
