Viva Mexican Grill and Tequileria in Wayland Has Closed

The sister restaurant of a Mexican dining spot in Cambridge has closed after being in business for a bit more than four years.

According to one of our readers, Viva Mexican Grill and Tequileria in Wayland is no longer in operation, with a check on the restaurant's website confirming this--a note on the site says that "We've closed our doors! We have packed our belongings...but we're taking many wonderful memories and friendships with us. Thank you so much to our many loyal neighbors and customers who have shared the last four years with us, and to the Town of Wayland for welcoming us in." The note also refers diners to their original restaurant (Jose's on Sherman Street in Cambridge) and indicates that a new eatery called China Rose will be moving into the East Plain Street space that Viva is vacating.

Viva Mexican Grill and Tequileria first opened in early 2010.

The address for this now-closed dining spot in Wayland was: Viva Mexican Grill and Tequileria, 15 East Plain Street, Wayland, MA, 01778.
