Imperial Pizza in Brighton Is Closing

It looks like a landmark pizza place that has been around for nearly half a century is going to be closing its doors.

A Facebook post from Brighton Main Streets confirms what a source told us earlier, that Imperial Pizza on Washington Street in Brighton is shutting down after business hours on July 19. The Facebook page for the pizza shop indicates that the reason for its closure is due to the owner retiring.

Imperial Pizza has been in business for 48 years.

The address for this soon-to-close pizza place in Brighton is: Imperial Pizza, 329 Washington Street, Brighton, MA, 02135.

Thanks to Universal Hub for bringing this to our attention (as well as our source).

OK, so what's the oldest Pizza joint in Boston? (Boston proper, inside 128, Massachuetts, etc.)

Wow, that's a great question. I'm going to have to go with the original Regina's in the North End, but I'll try to confirm this.
