Sorriso in Boston's Leather District to Become Bel Ari

Last year we reported that a pair of upscale restaurants in downtown Boston were being sold, with one of them eventually getting a name change. Now we have learned what its name will be (along with other information on it).

Eater Boston is reporting that Sorriso on South Street is going to become Bel Ari, with the dining spot featuring both classic and modern Italian food "from all over the boot." The article says that the executive chef at the restaurant will be Robert Fathman, who comes from such places as Les Zygomates, Legal Harborside, Grill 23, and others both in the area and outside of the region.

In June of 2013, we wrote that Sorriso and Les Zygomates were being sold, with the sale of both restaurants taking place earlier this year. Les Zygomates remains in operation (and under the same name).

[September 8 update: The Boston Globe mentions that Bel Ari will open on September 18.]

The address for the upcoming Bel Ari is 107 South Street, Boston, MA, 02111.
