Wegmans Opens in Burlington

A supermarket that recently opened a location just west of Boston has now opened another much bigger one north of the city.

According to its social media pages, Wegmans opens today at 3rd Ave Burlington, which is a new development just north of the Burlington Mall. As mentioned previously, the store is a bit under 150,000 square feet in size and has a large food court area within it. This is the second location to come to the Boston area, with another one being found in Chestnut Hill; others are being planned for the region, including in Boston's Fenway neighborhood and in Westwood. (The first Wegmans to come to Massachusetts can be found in Northborough.)

Wegmans started out as a fruit and vegetable company in Rochester, NY during World War I and now has a number of locations in the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states. Its website is at
