Antonio's Bacaro Plans to Open in Hyde Park

It looks like a new Italian restaurant is on its way to Hyde Park, and the people behind it may be familiar to some.

Universal Hub is reporting that Antonio's Bacaro is going to be opening on Fairmount Avenue, taking over the space where The Hyde had been until closing until May of 2013, and before that, Dottie's. The owners of the upcoming eatery are Sonia and Joseph Garufi, who also run Sophia's Grotto on Birch Street in Roslindale, and it appears that Antonio's Bacaro may have similar fare to that restaurant. It is not yet known when the new place might open; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.

The address for this upcoming Italian restaurant in Hyde Park is: Antonio's Bacaro, 5 Fairmount Avenue, Boston, MA, 02136.

[June 1, 2016 update: Nearly a year and a half after first reporting on it, Antonio's Bacaro appears to have soft-opened, with one Twitter poster saying that the place is serving drinks and accepting cash only, while a post from the restaurant simply says that the bar is open.]
