Update: Erawan of Siam in Waltham Has Closed; Nonna's to Open in Its Space

[Ed note: This article was updated on April 23 to reflect confirmation that a new restaurant is moving into the space.]

A Thai dining spot on Waltham's "Restaurant Row" has closed after being in business for approximately 30 years.

According to a poster on the Chowhound site, Erawan of Siam on Moody Street is shuttered with the windows being papered over, and a call placed to the restaurant confirms that they have indeed closed. The voicemail also mentions that a new spot will be going in, and though the message was tough to hear, it sounded like the place would be called Nonna's. which jibes with an earlier post from the Waltham Community site.

[April 23 update: A Twitter post from @brandnewwatch confirms that Nonna's will indeed be moving into the former Erawan of Siam space, as a sign saying "Nonna's Italian Bar and Grill Coming Soon" is now up for the restaurant.]

[August 15 update: According to sources, Nonna's has opened.]

Erawan of Siam has been around since the mid-1980s, offering an array of Thai dishes including a number of BBQ items.

The address for this now-closed Thai restaurant in Waltham was: Erawan of Siam, 469 Moody Street, Waltham, MA, 02453.
