Update: WOW Barbecue to Open Wu Er in Brookline

[Ed note: This article was updated on March 11, 2016 to reflect more information given, including a name for the place and the fact that it is in the process of opening.]

It looks like the people behind a restaurant and food truck that both focus on BBQ will be opening a second brick-and-mortar spot in the area.

According to a job post within the Craigslist site, WOW Barbecue is planning to open a permanent restaurant somewhere in Brookline "in the near future," joining location of WOW on Salem Street in Malden as well as a food truck by the same name that is set up mainly in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood. Based on the food offered at the Malden restaurant and the food truck, Chinese BBQ may be offered at the upcoming place, though it is not yet known for sure whether this will be the case.

The website for WOW Barbecue is at http://www.wowbarbecue.com/

[May 8 update: According to a poster on the Chowhound site (via the Brookline Tab), WOW Barbecue plans to open its new restaurant at 320 Washington Street in Brookline Village, which is where the sushi spot Zen 320 has been.]

[March 11, 2016 update: Eater Boston is reporting that the new restaurant from WOW is actually called Wu ER, and it is soft-opening today and tomorrow by reservation only. According to the article, the new dining spot will have a "Chinese barbecue influenced fusion menu" along with "creative" cocktails, though exact details on specific food/drink items are not yet known.]
