Hungry Mother in Cambridge's Kendall Square Is Closing

An award-winning restaurant in Cambridge is closing its doors.

This afternoon, a source told us that news about Hungry Mother in Kendall Square was apparently coming out, and Eater Boston has just confirmed (via the dining spot's website) that it is shutting down. The note says that owner Barry Maiden is leaving the restaurant to pursue other projects, with the rest of the team apparently opening a new eatery in the space; Maiden's other restaurant--State Park, which is also in Kendall Square--will remain in operation.

According to the note on the site, the last day for Hungry Mother is July 3.

The address for Hungry Mother is 233 Cardinal Medeiros Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02141.

[July 6 update: A new note on the now-closed Hungry Mother website confirms that the team (minus Barry Maiden) will indeed be opening a new concept in the space, and that anyone who has unused Hungry Mother gift cards can use them at State Park--and eventually at the new restaurant when it opens.]
