Bambolina Is Opening in Salem

A brand new pizzeria on the North Shore is opening, and this one has a wood-fired oven that runs at extremely high temperatures.

According to several sources, including a Facebook post from Salem Food Digest, Bambolina is opening on Derby Street in Salem, taking over the former gift shop space at the Salem Wax Museum and Haunted Neighborhood. The post says that the custom-made oven can cook pizzas in approximately 90 seconds at a temperature of 1,000 degrees F, with the website for the eatery saying that the oven was built in Italy. In addition to pizza, the restaurant also offers appetizers, shared items/small plates, and dinner entrees.

It appears that Bambolina may have already opened over the past day or two (it was having a soft opening earlier this week); as soon as we find out for sure, we will post an update here.

[June 28 update: According to its Facebook page, Bambolina is now open.]

The address for this new pizzeria in Salem is: Bambolina, 288 Derby Street, Salem, MA, 01970. Its website can be found at http://www.bambolinarestaurant.com/
