Clover Is Opening Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant Near Boston's South Station.

The people behind a number of vegetarian food trucks and brick-and-mortar restaurants are looking to open a permanent spot that would likely be popular with commuters.

Eater Boston is reporting that Clover Food Lab is planning on opening a shop on Federal Street near South Station, which is very close to where one of its food trucks is set up (at Dewey Square). Based on what happens with the proposed Copley Square location of Clover, the one on Federal Street would either be the first or second permanent shop in the city of Boston, though at this point it looks more likely to be the first because the Copley Square store is currently on "indefinite hold." [Ed note: It will likely be the second because Clover recently opened one on School Street by Downtown Crossing.]

Existing brick-and-mortar locations of Clover can be found in Downtown Crossing [ed note--see above], Cambridge's Central Square, Inman Square, Harvard Square, and Kendall Square, along with Brookline and Burlington. (A number of Clover food trucks can also be found in various places around the Boston area.) The website for Clover is at http://www.cloverfoodlab.com/

[May 19, 2016 update: Eater Boston states that the new location of Clover on Federal Street expects to open in June.]

[July 1, 2016 update: According to a press release, the new location of Clover at 160 Federal Street is now open, and it is considered their "flagship" location.]
