WuBurger Is Opening in Cambridge's Inman Square

A burger spot that debuted north of Boston last month is going to be opening a second location, and this one will be in one of the busiest sections of Cambridge.

According to an article in BDCwire, WuBurger is planning to open in Inman Square, taking over the space on Cambridge Street where East by Northeast had been until closing in March. Based on the menu at the original location on Route 38 in North Woburn, expect such items as burgers, Nathan's hot dogs (including a Coney Island dog with onions, chili, cheddar cheese sauce), roast beef sandwiches, a fried eggplant sandwich, waffle fries, ice cream from Richardson's, and possibly "boozy" milkshakes, as they have a liquor license.

In April, we had reported that a burger and mussel bar tentatively called DK & Co. had been looking to open in the East by Northeast space, with the owners of that proposed spot being the people behind Lisa's Family Pizzeria, a local group of eateries with several other locations north of Boston. We have been told by The Passionate Foodie that WuBurger is owned by the same people, so it appears that they decided to go with WuBurger rather than DK & Co.

If all goes as planned, the new WuBurger could be opening in Cambridge in late December or January of 2016.

[April 25, 2016 update: Eater Boston states that WuBurger opens on May 2.]

The address for this new eatery in Inman Square is: WuBurger, 1128 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139. The website for the original location can be found at http://www.wuburger.com/
