FoMu Alternative Ice Cream + Cafe Is Opening in Boston's South End

A pair of vegan ice cream shops in Allston and Jamaica Plain will soon be joined by a third, and this one will be coming to a space in the heart of Boston's South End.

Boston Magazine is reporting that FoMu Alternative Ice Cream + Cafe is planning to open on Tremont Street, taking over the space where an art gallery had been. Based on the other two shops, expect to see non-dairy ice cream made using a coconut base or almond/cashew blend as well as baked goods, tea and coffee, and smoothies offered.

If all goes as planned, the new location of FoMu could be open sometime in May.

The address for this upcoming vegan ice cream place in the South End is: FoMu, 655 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02118. The website can be found at http://www.fomuicecream.com/

[May 27 update: The Boston Globe states that the new location of FoMu in the South End is now open.]
