A popular brewpub in Cambridge has officially ended its onsite beermaking.
Boston Magazine is reporting that John Harvard's Brewery & Ale House in Harvard Square has announced it will no longer brew beer within its Dunster Street space, instead contracting out its beer options to local breweries. The article says that John Harvard's actually stopped making beer at its Cambridge facility over the fall because of maintenance expenses and that it will be closed through January 6 while the serving tanks are being removed from the premises. Once the pub reopens, the plan will be to offer four beers with the John Harvard's name along with four rotating taps from other brands.

Other locations of John Harvard's can be found in Framingham, Lake Grove, NY, Providence (under the name Union Station Brewery), and at a couple of ski areas (Jiminy Peak in Hancock, MA, and Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY).
