Owner of Pisa Pizza in Malden Opens Breakaway in Danvers

The person behind a highly-rated pizzeria north of Boston has opened another spot within a landmark space on Route 1, and it features pizza that is similar to that of his original place.

A note from @CappyinBoston indicates that Breakaway is now open in Danvers, taking over the space where Timothy's had been (and before that, the Village Green), with an article in the Malden Advocate stating that Joe Crowley of Pisa Pizza in Malden is behind the new spot. A Facebook post from Pisa mentions that Breakaway includes a full pub, a club with live music on weekends, and a couple of function rooms, while the Advocate says that it also has a brick oven used to make pizzas that are "close to" those offered at Pisa. (Pasta, grill items, and more are also served at the Danvers spot.)

Pisa Pizza is a place that our sister site (Boston's Hidden Restaurants) has featured as an under-the-radar spot to go to for pizza and more. The review can be found at the link below:

The address for Breakaway is 221 Newbury Street (Route 1), Danvers, MA, 01923. Its website can be found at http://www.breakawaydanvers.com/
