Charges Dropped Against Tim Maslow (Ribelle/1665 Beacon, Strip-T's)

A couple of months ago, we reported that one of the best-known chefs in the Boston area had been arrested at the Canadian border, and now we have learned that the charges against him have been dropped.

According to a Facebook post from Strip-T's in Watertown, Vermont State Police have apparently dropped all charges against Tim Maslow, with the news being posted by his father Paul who thanks people for their support. The post concludes with Paul saying that "since bad news travels faster than good news, please help spread the news so that my sons reputation can be restored!"

In late February, Tim Maslow was arrested at the Canadian border after a search of the car he and four others were in resulted in the discovery of 22.5 pounds of marijuana (THC) edibles; he pleaded not guilty to charges of felony possession of marijuana and possession of a depressant, stimulant, and narcotic and was released on bail. A few days after the arrest, the other restaurant in which he is involved--Ribelle in Brookline--changed its name to 1665 Beacon and changed its menu to lean more toward French cuisine.

Thanks to a source for initially bringing this to our attention.

[April 12 update: Eater Boston has confirmed that the state of Vermont has indeed dropped all charges against Tim Maslow, and Maslow himself has posted about the dismissal of the charges via Instagram, saying "Dismissed on all counts. Thanks for all the support. And to who didn't. (expletive deleted) you!]
