Portland Pie Co. in Reading Has Closed

A small group of pizza spots has gotten a bit smaller, as its sole Boston-area locations has shuttered with what appears to be no warning.

According to a source, Portland Pie Co. in Reading abruptly closed over the past few days, with several people on social media (including a poster on Twitter who took a picture of a sign out front) confirming that the Haven Street dining spot indeed shut down for good over the weekend. No reason has been given for the sudden closure of the pizzeria, with the restaurant's website simply removing the shop from its locations page.

Portland Pie Co. started out in Portland, ME, in 1997 and now has locations in Portland, Biddeford, Westbrook, Scarborough, and Brunswick, ME, along with Manchester and Nashua, NH. In addition to its build-your-own pizzas, the group of eateries also offers soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, and calzones.

The address for this now-closed pizza spot in Reading was: Portland Pie Co., 54 Haven Street, Reading, MA, 01867. The website for all of the locations is at http://www.portlandpie.com/
