Bluefin Restaurant in Cambridge's Porter Square to Be Replaced by Wafu-Ya

A Japanese restaurant and sushi bar in Cambridge that has been in business for nearly 20 years may become home to a new dining spot.

A license commission general hearing agenda page within the City of Cambridge website indicates that Bluefin Restaurant within the Porter Exchange building in Porter Square is looking to transfer its license to Wafu-Ya, which would operate at the same location. It appears that there could be a connection between Bluefin and Wafu-Ya, as the proposed manager of record for the new eatery--Aya Tano--appears to be affiliated with Bluefin, based on her Instagram page and other pages that came up in an online search.

Bluefin has been in business since 1997, according to the Manta site.

The address for Bluefin Restaurant (and the proposed Wafu-Ya) is 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02140. The website for Bluefin can be found at http://www.bluefin-cambridge.com/

[December 19 update: A check on the place yesterday indicates that Bluefin appears to be in the process of changing over to Wafu-Ya now, with a note out front saying "Wafu-Ya Japanese Kitchen coming soon" and a sign underneath saying "Under New Management." A "Closed" sign was also posted out front but the door was open and it looked like work was possibly being done on the space.]

[February 9, 2017 update: Another check on the place this week indicates that Wafu-Ya has opened.]
