Ruka Is Opening within Godfrey Hotel in Boston's Downtown Crossing

The team behind a modern supper club that opened in a landmark downtown Boston space last year will be opening another dining spot nearby, and this one will be located in a newly-opened hotel.

According to a press release, Ruka is planning to open within the Godfrey Hotel in Downtown Crossing, with the Yvonne's group being behind the Washington Street place. The release says that the new eatery will combine traditional Peruvian fare with Chinese "chifa" and Japanese "nikkei" cuisines, both of which make up part of a fusion food trend in Peru, while the cocktail program will have Peruvian and Japanese leanings. No specific opening date has been given as of yet for Ruka, but when it debuts, it will join a location of George Howell Coffee which will also be in the hotel. [Ed note--George Howell Coffee is now open.]

Yvonne's opened in the former Locke-Ober Space on Winter Place last September.

The address for the upcoming Ruka (and the Godfrey Hotel) is 505 Washington Street, Boston, MA, 02111.

[December 2 update: Boston Magazine states that Ruka opens on Monday, December 5, and that it will be the "first dedicated nikkei and chifa restaurant" in the city of Boston.]
