Yumi in Somerville's Davis Square Has Closed; New Restaurant Apparently Coming

It looks like a hot pot and sushi place in Somerville has closed, and what appears to be a new spot may be on its way to the space.

According to a thread on the Davis Square LiveJournal blog, Yumi in Davis Square is apparently shuttered, with one post showing a sign out front saying that "we're coming soon" this summer, though no name has been given to the new place. The poster out front also says that the upcoming eatery will have sushi, bento boxes, ramen, and sushi burritos.

Yumi first opened its doors in November of 2015, taking over the space where a location of Pinkberry had been.

The address for the now-closed Yumi (and upcoming new restaurant) is 263 Elm Street, Somerville, MA, 02144.

[June 7 update: Eater Boston states that a chain called Pokeworks is looking to open at 261 Elm Street, and that they will feature a Hawaiian raw fish salad known as "poke" while also offering "pokirritos" which are basically sushi burritos. It is not yet known whether Pokeworks will take over both 261 and 263 Elm Street, or perhaps the 261 address given is incorrect, or if it is possible that two sushi burrito spots may open next door to each other; as soon as we find out more, we will post an update here.]
