River Gods in Cambridge Has Closed

A popular restaurant, bar, and music spot in Cambridge has shut down for good.

Vanyaland is reporting that River Gods on River Street near Central Square is now closed, as the owner was apparently unable to renew the lease on the spot. The article quotes owner Jackie Linnane as saying:

"It is shocking and terribly sad for all of us....Surreal...You all have been an intrinsic part of the River Gods family, for which, I will be eternally grateful. I cannot express how I feel… So many good times, so many memories… such great music...15 years..."

A recent Facebook post from River Gods mentions that this indeed is a permanent closure.

River Gods, which first opened approximately 15 years ago, was known in part for its themed music nights from a variety of DJs. In addition, the place also offered pub grub (including vegetarian items) along with beer, wine, and cocktails.

The address for River Gods was 125 River Street, Cambridge, MA, 02139.
