Atwater Brewery Could Be Expanding to Boston

A brewery in Detroit is looking to expand, and it may just be coming to Boston at some point.

Eater Detroit is reporting (via Crain's) that Atwater Brewery is considering opening taprooms and small operations for brewing in both Boston and Chicago, with the outlets being similar to the brewery and beer garden that is located in Grosse Pointe Park (just outside of Detroit). Crain's says that Atwater is also planning to a similarly-sized spot in Grand Rapids soon and a larger brewery will be coming to Austin next year, while another large-scale brewery will debut in North Carolina in late 2018 or 2019.

Atwater Brewery, which first started out in 1997, is known in part for its German-style lagers; its website can be found at http://www.atwaterbeer.com/
