Sully C's in Saugus Sells Its Liquor License

It looks like the end has finally come for a restaurant and bar on Route 1 that was hit by a fire last year.

The Saugus Advertiser is reporting that the liquor license for Sully C's in Saugus has been sold and will be used for an upcoming brick-oven pizzeria called Sebastiana's, which will be located at an as-of-yet undisclosed location within the community. In the spring of 2015, the building in which Sully C's was housed was hit by a fire, and a disagreement subsequently developed over whom should cover the repairs for the dining and drinking spot. Town officials eventually gave owner Elaine Byrne an ultimatum--either find a new location for Sully C's or sell the liquor license, or face the possibility of the license being canceled.

It appears that the town of Saugus could still revoke the license for Sully C's because the purchase and sale agreement did not have the "proper application materials," according to the Advertiser. The abeyance that prevents the license from being taken away will be extended until the selectmen meeting on October 5, though a completed application needs to be given to the town before that date.

Sully C's opened its doors in June of 2012, taking over the space where Jalapenos and Tabu Ultra Lounge and Nightclub had once been.

The address for the now-closed Sully C's Sports Bar and Grill was 168 Broadway, Saugus, MA, 01906.
