Cosi in Cambridge's Kendall Square Has Closed

Yet another location of a troubled local chain of dining spots has closed.

According to a Twitter post from @Dipsys_pal, Cosi in the Kendall Square section of Cambridge is no longer in operation, with the tweet saying "Lost their lease. Looks like MIT is emptying the storefronts along Main St." A check on Cosi's website shows that the Kendall/MIT location has indeed been taken down, which confirms that the shop is the third to close in the Boston area over the past several weeks. (The South Station and Back Bay stores have also shut down.)

It has been a difficult stretch of late for Cosi, as the chain filed for bankruptcy in late September, had its stock delisted last month, and could be going to auction sometime this month. Locations of Cosi continue to operate on Federal Street, High Street, Milk Street, and State Street in downtown Boston, and at the Seaport District and Logan Airport.
