Poke City Is Opening in Cambridge

A new restaurant is on its way to Cambridge, and it may be offering a type of food that has just made its debut in the Boston area.

According to a License Commission Hearing Agenda page within the city's website, Poke City is seeking a license to operate on Mass. Ave., with the address indicating that it would be taking over the space near Porter Square where Tisan Coffee Express had been. Little is currently known about the place other than the fact that it would have seating for 20 and possible hours of 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Based on its name, it appears that Poke City will be serving a Hawaiian raw fish salad called poke, which can be found at the new Pokeworks in Somerville's Davis Square and will also be offered at the upcoming Manoa in Somerville near Porter Square.

The address for this new restaurant in Cambridge is: Poke City, 1722 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, 02138.

[January 26, 2017 update: Eater Boston states that Poke City is now open in Cambridge, and that it indeed offers Hawaiian-style poke.]
