A restaurant and bar in the northern suburbs of Boston that is known for its comfort food and live entertainment is shutting down.

According to one of our sources, the Tanner Tavern in Woburn is closing its doors, with a Facebook post from someone who has played many shows at the Main Street spot mentioning that it will be shuttering at the end of the month. A tweet from a host of trivia nights also says that the place is closing and that the final trivia night there will be on Thursday, December 22.

The Tanner Tavern, which first opened approximately 10 years ago, focuses on a mix of classic and New American fare, including such items as wings, fried pickles, French onion soup, clam chowder, burgers, grilled pizza, BBQ ribs, steak tips, turkey dinner, prime rib, fish and chips, and grilled salmon.

The address for the Tanner Tavern is 474 Main Street, Woburn, MA, 01801. Its website can be found at http://www.tannertavern.com/

[December 23 update: According to its website, the Tanner Tavern will be closing "after December 29."]
