The Brook Kitchen and Tap to Expand to Maynard

The people behind a new restaurant and bar that recently opened south of Boston are now opening a second location west of the city.

According to a job post within the Craigslist site, The Brook Kitchen & Tap is planning to open a new location in Maynard, joining its original restaurant in Holbrook. The Holbrook location of the dining and drinking spot opened this fall in the old Halfway Cafe (and Lucky Lou Lou's) space on Route 37, and while another location of the Halfway Cafe can be found in Maynard, it is not yet known whether The Brook Kitchen & Tap will be taking over the Main Street space. (We have reached out to The Brook and are waiting to hear back.)

The Holbrook location of The Brook Kitchen & Tap focuses mainly on American classics and comfort food, and it also features a number of beers from breweries in the local area and beyond.

[December 27 update: A person involved with the Halfway Cafe has confirmed that The Brook Kitchen & Tap will indeed be taking over the Maynard location of the Halfway, with the new spot slated to open in January.]

[December 28 update: A Facebook post from the Halfway Cafe states that The Brook Kitchen & Tap will open in the Maynard Halfway Cafe space on January 14.]

[January 4, 2017 update: It appears that the changeover is happening earlier than previously thought, as a new Facebook post says that the Halfway Cafe will say farewell to Maynard on Saturday, January 7, and that The Brook Kitchen & Tap will debut that night.]
