Bawarchi Biryanis Opens in South Weymouth, Plans to Open Another Location in Framingham

A chain of Indian restaurants has replaced another dining spot on the South Shore, and it may also open another outlet west of Boston, taking over the space where an Irish pub had been until it was seized earlier this year.

Framingham Source is reporting that Bawarchi Biryanis has opened in South Weymouth, with a check on the place indicating that it has moved into the Pond Street space where Fishtail Kitchen (an Indian and Nepalese dining spot) had been. The article also says that the chain is looking to open on Route 9 in Framingham where O'Connell's Pub was, though no opening date has been given as of yet. Bawarchi Biryanis, which has more than 30 locations across the country, features a variety of North and South Indian options, Indian street food, Indo-Chinese fare, and more.

An earlier article from Framingham Source mentions that O'Connell's Pub was seized by the state in March for nonpayment of taxes; a number of dining and drinking spots have been in this space as well, including Asia Buffet, Rainbow Buffet, Blue Danube, East Coast Oyster Bar and Restaurant, Tony Roma's, and Scioletti's Italian Eatery.
